Custom Display Case for The AURORA AFX 1978 TV Guide Promotional "PETTY CHARGER".
This beautiful custom and hand crafted jewel display box is purposefully designed to display the PETTY CHARGER.  This special edition car was offered in 1978 via multiple magazine ads and Hobby Shops.  All one had to do was purchase any AFX Race Set and then mail in a coupon with proof of purchase, and wait for AURORA to send the G-PLUS PETTY CHARGER.  The car came with a special sheet of stickers (#1801-016) with instructions sheet (#4-440) on how to affix them to the car.  The stickers are very hard to find, as they almost always fell off the car during play, or the adhesive dried out and they simply fell off the car.  Stickered cars are highly prized by vintage AFX collectors,
Sometime later the identical car, minus the sticker sheet, was made available over the counter.  The non stickered car is much more commonplace.  No Jewel Display Case was available for either version of these cars.  Now you can obtain a cool box to Protect and Display the PETTY CHARGER.  There is even a picture of how the coupon was presented in a 1978 issue of Boys Life Magazine presented on the back panel.
